In this session, you will focus on developing a Christian worldview, as well as a Christian perspective for your major, your career, and your life. For some of you, this material will be new. Please don't discount it even if you haven't encountered it before.
Your assignment has two parts. The first is to print and read the handout that I (Chuck) put together for each first-time Waynesburg University student attending the Jubilee Conference. The second part is to think while you are reading it, and mark it up a little with a highlighter. Our experience has shown that every student who reads through it and then has a follow up discussion BEFORE attending the conference, is much better prepared for the content of the weekend. Since 2004, we've been offering students a scholarship which is currently $30. NOTE: If you are a Waynesburg student going to Jubilee for the first time, you will receive a $125 scholarship for completing this website challenge.
If you already read my handout in the past, I am confident you will even get more out of it now.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you truly want to be effective in the vocation God has called you to, you need to have a decent grasp of these themes. Plus, we will be glad to show you how you can use them as good discussion starters in some of your classes. Some of your peers have never encounter Christians who really think, so this can be part of your evangelism efforts here on campus too.
REPORTING IN: Just fill out the section below to email Chuck, or whomever you've selected to report to.
First, the paper you just read contains its own set of questions. The first time (and the second time) that I considered these issues, I had a lot of questions. If you want, let's talk and/or just comment on what you find new or interesting.
Second, I am curious whether you have a good working knowledge of paradigms and worldviews. The way we "see" things really does affect our attitudes and behaviors? And IF we aren't seeing clearly, and IF we don't have the right "maps", do you agree that there ARE consequences? Unfortunately, most Christians haven't really addressed these topics in their life or vocation.
Third, spend a few minutes asking God to reveal what needs to happen next in your own personal discipleship as it applies to these themes.
